Lenox Library in Lenox, Massachusetts: the building was originally built and designed by Isaac Damon for the County courts and in 1874 became the home of the Lenox Library Association.

Every summer I have the pleasure of spending a few idyllic weeks in the bucolic Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts. I like to stop in at the historic Lenox Library, a vibrant hub of intellectual and cultural life in an area brimming with literature, theater, dance and the world-famous Tanglewood Music Center — the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Do you have a favorite place you return to every summer to soak up the local literary scene?
